Tips on how to use the list of related occupations
We’ve gathered a list of academic majors and federal occupations directly related to those majors. This list is not exhaustive, but it covers a wide range of majors and related occupations in the federal government.
- The occupations with an asterisk (*) require an academic degree or coursework in a particular area of study to qualify for a job within that occupation. For other occupations, you may substitute experience or a combination of related coursework instead of a degree.
- The four-digit “series” number is how the federal government categorizes similar occupations. Review our descriptions for the different occupational series.
- You can enter the four-digit series number in the keyword search to find jobs related to that occupation field.
