Your USAJOBS profile provides us with important information about you, your background and your work preferences. You must complete the required sections of your profile if you want to apply to a job on USAJOBS, but there are benefits to completing all sections of your profile.
Contact and hiring paths
We use your contact and hiring path information when you apply to a job—we auto-complete certain fields in the job application process with this information.
How to choose hiring paths in your profile.
Resume and documents
We use your profile information to help you build a resume in USAJOBS. Our resume builder tool will pull the information you put in you profile to start and update your resume.
How to add a resume to your profile.
In your profile, you can select a resume to make it searchable for recruiters. Once you make it searchable, recruiters can see your resume and certain information in you profile. They may contact you about jobs.
Information shared with recruiters
If you share a resume in the Resumes & documents page with recruiters, it makes sections of your profile also visible to recruiters if they are filled out. Recruiters can see your Contact information, Citizenship, Hiring paths, Federal service, Education, Travel and location preferences and Job and schedule preferences. Your USAJOBS profile will tell you what information is shared or not shared with recruiters.
Help recruiters find you by making your resume searchable.
Demographics
We collect this demographic data so that federal agencies meet Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) statutory reporting requirements and investigation and litigation needs. Completing the demographics section is optional. Your responses are not released to the panel rating the applications, to the selecting official or to anyone else who can affect your application.
